...as Emure, Ise/Orun, Ikere Joint Security Committee appreciates Governor

The Joint Security Committee (JSC) of Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere Local Governments in Ekiti South Senatorial District has appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for deeming it worthy to select its Chairman, Elder Joseph Tunji Falana as one of those that will be conferred with “Justice of Peace (JP)” in the State


In a statement in Ise Ekiti, the General Secretary of JSC, CSC Niyi Okunniga also thanked the monarchs of the three communities, Arinjale of Ise, Oba Adetunji Ajayi, Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Adu, Olukere of Odo-Oja, Ikere Ekiti, Oba Ganiyu Obasanyin, Olowuro of Orun Ekiti, Oba Zacheaus Adewunmi and Elemure of Emure Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adebayo for their cooperation and support to ensure that Elder Falana led Security Committee achieved success and reduce criminal activities in the towns.

The Secretary General also commended residents of the communities and members of the JSC in the communities for their understanding and support by taking the issue security of life and property of the people serious.

He noted that their unflinching support, both morally and in materials earned Elder Tunji Falana who is also the Chairman of Ise-Ekiti Development Council (IDC) the recognition to be conferred with ‘Justice of Peace” by Governor Oyebanji, saying that it was an evidence that someone is watching the activities of JSC.


According to him, Elder Falana deserved the honour due to his contributions to the development of the communities in the area of security and others, wishing him more higher positions.

CSP Okunniga thanked all the Local Governments and LCDA Chairmen, Patriotic elites who contributed immensely towards the Security Endowment Fund in the communities including Hon. (AVM) Niyi Ojuawo (Rtd), Member, Federal House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, training of successful applicants for Justice of Peace will hold on Monday 15th April, 2024 at Lady Jibowu Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti at 9am while investiture will take place on Thursday at the Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti on time to be fixed later.


A Bridged Profile of Elder Joseph Tunji Falana*

Elder Joseph Tunji Falana graduated from University of Ibadan where he studied Economics and Master’s in Development Economics from the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State and graduated in 1972

He worked with many multinational companies both home and abroad such as Nigerian Breweries Plc, AG Leventis, Modandola Group & Co and African Development Bank, Abidjan, Coted’Ivoire.


He was a Caretaker member of the defunct Isokan Local Goverment of the former Ondo State

A former Executive Chairman, Ekiti State Signage & Advertisements Agency and a former Director General, Ekiti State Job Creation & Employment Agency, Ado Ekiti.

Currently, He is the Chairman, Ise-Ekiti Development Council and Emure, Ise/Orun & Ikere Joint Security Committee (JSC), a synergy between the Local Goverments, all Security forces, the Royal Fathers,and many patriotic elites in the Zone.

His contributions to security matters in the communities was responsible for the reduced crimes in the Zone in recent times.
