BUILD ON YOUR STRENGTH TO DEVELOP EKITI – DG OFFICE OF COMMUNITY COMMUNICATIONS TASKS YOUTH GROUP

 


The Director General, Office of Community Communications, Governors Office, Mrs Mary Omotosho has called on youths in Ekiti State to build on their strength towards the development of the state.

She stated this during the Easter Carnival organized by Housing Youth Agenda comprising 12 communities in Federal Housing Estate on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti.

According to the DG, the strength and weapon of the youths lies in their numbers adding that the state government is open to collaborate with them for the growth of their community.

She noted that Governor Biodun Oyebanji is a youth friendly governor, who is ready to listen to the yearnings and concerns of youths in the state.


She said: “I want to plead with us that whatever we have agreed to do, let us do with all sincerity. As young people, our strength and weapon is in our numbers. Let us build on that strength to bring development to Housing Community.

“We welcome collaboration and partnership and will always be here for this community. The governor is the most youth friendly governor I have ever seen and he is aware of the challenges in the community.”

Speaking at the event, a former Deputy Governor of the State, Prof. Modupe Adelabu said the youths needs mentorship for the betterment of their future.



She advised them to invite other youths towards having a great future while urging them not to relent in their quest of bringing development and advancement to the state through their collective efforts.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Prince Adedayo Gold tasked them to take advantage of the youth-friendly policies of the state government to better their lives towards contributing positively to the development of themselves and the state at large.

On his part, the Youth Coordinator, Housing Youth Agenda, Akereja Oluwaseun said the group was created to foster unity, promote love and moral development to themselves, the community and state.


He hailed the giant strides of Governor Oyebanji while pleading for empowerment among the youths whom he said are majorly artisans, micro business owners and unemployed graduates.
