The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has advocated the creation of a more equitable and inclusive society where every woman can thrive and reach their full potential.
She stated this in Okeyinmin Comprehensive health centre and Irona Basic health Centres, all in Ado Ekiti while donating gift items which included towels, pampers, and mosquito nets among others to nursing mothers as part of an effort to celebrate international women’s day.
The Governor’s wife who was represented by her special Assistance on Political Mobilisation, Mrs Toyin Adepoju noted that it was very important to recognize the invaluable roles that mothers play in nurturing and raising future generations.
She also remarked that the gesture was part of her commitment to promoting the well-being of mothers and babies in appreciation of their tireless efforts and dedication to their families and the society.
The first lady, therefore, enjoined relevant stakeholders to continue to support and uplift women in all areas of life, including healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.
” When women are empowered, they can positively impact their families and society as a whole. I urge all of us to join hands in promoting the welfare and empowerment of women,” She stressed.
Dr Oyebanji also used the medium to solicit support and vote from the women folks for all APC candidates into the House of Assembly on Saturday, nothing that claiming all the seats in the house, will aid all-around development in the state under the BAO-led administration.
Appreciating the gesture, Mrs Olubunmi Olagunju and Mrs Esther Joshua, on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked Dr Oyebanji for always prioritizing women and children, while appealing for her continued commitment to the wellbeing of women and children in the society.
Also present at the event were the State Director primary health Care Services, Dr Ayodele Seluwa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women affairs and social Development, Mrs Sola Akinluyi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and Human Services, Pharmacist Olabisi Arogundade among others.
