Ekiti Disburses N100m Car Loans To 278 Civil Servants

 SAIBLOG  reports that Barely two days after giving out over N60 million as housing loan to some teachers and other workers, Ekiti State Government has again disbursed another N100 million as car loans to 278 civil servants. The Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr Akintunde  Oyebode, made this known to newsmen on Tuesday evening in Ado Ekiti, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. Giving a breakdown of the loan disbursement, he said that the sums ranging from N80,000 to N1.5 million were disbursed to the beneficiaries of the loan scheme depending on their respective grade level. Oyebode listed the number of loan recipients to include 41 workers between grade levels 02 to 06; 96 officers on grade level 07 to 10; 134 officers on grade levels 12 to 14; six between grade level 15 and 17; while one of the beneficiaries is on consolidated salary.   He described the development as a reflection of the commitment of the present administration to improve the welfare of worke

Ekiti Govt Relaxes Curfew, Restrictions, Orders Schools To Reopen Monday

SAIBLOG  reports that Ekiti State Government on Sunday night announced that the curfew it imposed on the state from 8 pm to 6 am, including various other restrictions, had been relaxed. Consequently, the curfew is now to commence at 10 pm and end at 6 am as a result of school activities and other economic factors. Mr Akin Omole, the Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, made this known in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado Ekiti, saying Gov. Kayode Fayemi gave approval for the development.   He said the government had also ordered public and private schools in the state to re-open for the second term of the 2020/21 session from Monday 18th Jan. 2021. Manchester United player Jesse Lingard agrees loan deal with West Ham till end of season

  Out of favour Manchester United midefielder, Jesse Lingard has agreed a loan move to West Ham. Negotiations between Manchester United and West Ham nearly hit the rocks on Thursday , January 28 with United asking for a £1.5million loan fee plus Lingard's £80,000-a-week wages for the rest of the season according to the Daily Mail UK. As West Ham baulked over the fee, United took the step of informing other clubs that Lingard was still available but West Ham manager David Moyes has now agreed to pay the fee and the attacking midfielder will join the club on loan till the end of the season.   Lingard has struggled for game time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season but Moyes, who knows the 24-cap England midfielder from his time at Old Trafford, believes he can rejuvenate his form. 

Ekiti Govt Orders Schools To Re-open On Monday, Workers Below GL 12 To Continue To Stay At Home

  Ekiti State Government has ordered public and private schools in the State to re-open for the Second term of the 2020/21 session from Monday 18th January, 2021. The curfew earlier imposed on the State from 8pm to 6am was also relaxed to now commence at 10 pm and end 6 am while the restriction of maximum of 20 persons in confined spaces was removed to allow half capacity of venue for all events indoors and social-distance two-meter spacing for outdoor activities. Activities limited to between one and two hours maximum period are encouraged to minimize infection risk. Gunmen Kidnap Popular Petrol Dealer In Ekiti

  reports that Gunmen on Sunday night kidnapped a petroleum product dealer in Ado Ekiti, Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami. The incident happened at the victim’s filling station along Ado-Ijan Road in Ado Ekiti about 9 pm on Sunday.
