 EKITI LIFTS CURFEW ON STATE AND RESTRICTIONS ON RELIGIOUS WORSHIPS Ekiti State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on the State with effect from 6am on Sunday, November 1, 2020. In a statement made available to newsmen, the State Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Hon. Akin Omole explained that the decision to lift the curfew was taken after an assessment of the security situation and the restoration of relative peace in the State. The commissioner added that the State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi also approved the lifting of the restrictions placed on religious gatherings during the corona-virus pandemic with effect from the same date, November 1, 2020. Okere prison in warri, delta state under attack

 News from eyewitnesses and confirmed sources stated that okere prison in warri was under attack, it was set ablaze and the police and other security personnels are trying hard to restore the situation.  Apart from the prison attack no further attack has happened in warri.  The government of the Delta state have put a 48hours curfew starting from today October, 22 2020 by 6pm. These curfew is put in place to restore order in the state and to keep people indoors so the perpetrators of these crimes can be easily identified. 

Just In: Ekiti State Govt extends 24-hour curfew indefinitely

The government of Ekiti State in South-West Nigeria has announced an extension of the 24-hour curfew imposed in the wake of the violence that followed hijack of the #EndSARS protests in the State till further notice. This is contained in a message released by Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Yinka Oyebode. Governor Kayode Fayemi approved the extension after the initial hours the curfew was supposed to be in force elapsed.

The Nigerian Bar Association Ado-Ekiti Branch has raised alarm over the alleged violation of rights of citizens by soldiers. IGP deploys anti-riot police nationwide to stop #EndSARS Protesters

  October 20, 2020 - 4:56 Pm Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), has deployed anti-riot police officers nationwide to quell the crisis following the #EndSARS protests. The police disclosed this via its Twitter handle on Tuesday, moments after a 24-hour curfew was declared in Lagos state. The protests have turned violent in some states; police stations were burnt in Lagos, barely 24 hours after some were set ablaze in Edo state. “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has ordered immediate nationwide deployment of anti-riot police unit — the Police Mobile Force (PMF) — to protect lives and property of all Nigerians and secure critical national infrastructure across the country,” the police tweeted.

#EndSARS: Scores injured as thugs attack protesters in Ekiti

  There was pandemonium in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital on Tuesday as the protests against police brutality took a fresh dimension when arm-wielding hoodlums suspected to be commercial drivers attacked the protesters. The hoodlums bearing cutlasses, sticks and gun attacked the protesters around 12: 45pm at Adebayo area of the state capital where they mounted blockades. It was gathered that the hoodlums went on rampage to vent their anger against the continued disruption of economic and social activities in the state capital city by the protesters.   The atmosphere was tensed as some of the protesters repelled the hoodlums while others who could not withstand the arm-wielding hoodlums scampered for safety. The situation grounded to halt economic activities and vehicular movement in the area as motorists, commuters and shop owners had fled the scene to escape being trapped.   As the battle for #EndSARS rages on across the states in the country, protesters, on Thursday, in Ekiti, attacked the convoy of the state governor, Mr Kayode Fayemi.
