However, even that has not stopped him from creating the needed impact and raising his stock on the Ghanaian music scene.
There are people who believe Shatta Wale is not liked due to his lifestyle, but the truth is that there are many more who like him yet do not even realize it.

Since he relaunched his career, the Shatta Movement boss has been entangled in one controversy or the other, starting from his feud with organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in 2013, where he rained insults on them till he was eventually sued.
Also, last year during the S concert, Shatta Wale infamously slapped his bodyguard on stage when the latter attempted to impede a fan. All these may come as bad press, but news thrives on controversy and controversy keeps Shatta Wale in the limelight.
2. His hardcore fan base
There is one thing that you cannot take away from Shatta Wale and that is his electric fan base. The self-acclaimed dancehall king has one of the most passionate and committed fans in the country at the moment.
These are not just fans who follow his music, these are fans who follow his life and whatever he does as well, no matter what.
Even when he appears wrong, they will still back him, and really for an artiste to thrive in a music industry that has proved to be very unkind to saints, this sort of support is very important. Fortunately for Shatta Wale, he has it and it has kept him going.

The Zylofon Media signee has built strong connection with his fans and the main reason why he has managed to sustain that is his diversionary antics.
Many a time, you would find Shatta Wale in all sort of funny moods on social media. He can be very funny, really, and that sort of comedy aspect of his endears him to many people, not just his fans. That also veers attention off his usually abrasive character.

When it comes to musicians who know exactly how to craft lyrics to get the attention of their fans, then Shatta Wale should be number on any list.
The Zylofon Media signee has not had the best of quality in the production of his songs but one thing that has ingratiated him to music fans is his catchy melodies and choruses.
