S. U. E variety night sparks excitement in JABU

   As part of the activities to welcome the freshers into the university, the Students' Union organised an alfresco variety night in front of the university cafeteria.

The event which took place on Monday evening stirred a lot of excitement and enthusiasm among the new intakes and returning students as it was filled with musical performances, dance, board games among many others.
According to President of the Union, Samuel Olagbenro, the event was also set out to make the university environment lively adding that the union is making efforts to organise social events more regularly.
Also, the acting social director of the union, Justina Akeredolu, noted that social events in the university was part of the plans to bridge the gap between students of the various levels thereby fostering unity among students.
She said, “We are looking forward to having more of this program. It's not a one off thing. We want students to keep having fun; we want them to feel welcomed in the school. We want people to come together.”
According to student participants, the variety night which is the first social event of the session, was a success and very exciting.
“If I was going to rate, I would rate it 50 percent but with the way things turned out eventually, I'll rate it 200 over 100 because it was very nice. It was more than what I expected,” said Damilola Omotade, a 100-level student.
The Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Julius Adegboro, who was also present at the event expressed satisfaction at the turn out, assuring that there would be more social events in order to create a blend between spirituality, academics and social life.
