– JAMB released new cut-off marks for tertiary institutions – The institutions are however at liberty to raise theirs above JAMB’s requirement – JAMB also lifted the ban on Post-UTME The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the cut-off marks for Nigerian tertiary institutions while also lifting the ban for post UTME examination. Premium Times reports that these decisions were taken at the 2017 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria which ended on Tuesday, August 22. NBC bans Davido, Olamide and 9ice's songs, declares them unworthy to be broadcast

- Olamide, Davido and 9ice have attracted the wrong type of attention from the government - Their songs have been declared not fit to be broadcast  - No official reason has been given for the songs been yanked off air  Songs by popular musicians Davido, 9ice, and Olamide have been banned by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC). The songs have been banned from being aired on all local radio and TV stations. The songs banned include If (remix) by Davido, Wo and Wavy Level by Olamide, and Living Things by 9ice. The artistes involved are yet to react to this latest move by the NBC. -There might be some hope for Nigerian students affected by the recent ASUU strike action - Following a meeting with the federal government, the union has agreed to an audit of earlier funds  - They also agreed on monthly remittances during the period of the audit. The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) met with the minister of labour and employment, Senator Chris Ngige, in Abuja on August 15. According to NAN, the meeting held at the Minister’s Conference Room, Ministry of Labour in Abuja.
