The management of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has reinstated 355 out of over one thousand staff sacked in December last year.
The workers were reinstated based on recommendation by the appeal panel set up by the university. The decision was ratified by the governing council of the university during its meeting concluded few hours ago.
It would be recalled that some workers of the institution were sacked early December, which generated an outrage thus resulting in the review of the process.
TVC News gathered that 1173 Staff were disengaged on the 5th of December 2019 in which 355 Staff were reinstated. The breakdown of the affected employees shows that:
497 staff not recommended for reinstatement
52 staff cases not concluded
15 staff retired
254 staff didn’t appeal.
