Furtherance to effective service delivery, Ekiti State Signage and Advertising Agency (EKSAA), in ensuring revenue generation for the State Government, has secured a sum of N1.2Million annual fees from BetKing.

The era of impunity and disregard for government assets is on a stop order in Ekiti as the Ekiti State Signage and Advertising Agency’s effort at securing government interest remains priority and is clearly a motivating factor particularly for the enforcement team of the Agency.
The Agency, last Tuesday September 24, 2019, collected the revenue from the gaming and betting company, which has about 62 outlets/shops in Ekiti after the enforcement team, on Friday September 20, 2019, shut down 16 of these outlets to effect compliance on payment of dues.
The Director-General of the Agency Mr. Sunkanmi Onipede said that, “We discovered that BetKing, with over 62 outlets in Ekiti, was yet to pay its annual dues for 2019. So as part of our coordinated revenue generation, we approached the betting company for their approval documents on the display of signages but unfortunately they had none.
“We issued them a bill and their representatives visited our office on Friday September 20, 2019 for negotiations and a sum of N1.2Million was agreed which they paid the following week on Tuesday September 24, 2019 into the State Government’ Treasury,” he said.
