I never knew Kemi had this kind of creative mind, you would think she had worked for the CIA has an undercover agent before, we spent several minutes scheming our plan. The plan is for kemi to go along with me the next day immediately after class, I will give an excuse for her presence and she will have to find a way to delete the pictures on Samuel’s phone
” What if he doesn’t allow you to enter his room, what if he sensed what we are planning, are you sure this plan will work and not backfire on us?” I asked
“You too dey fear fear, nothing will happen, let’s just plan it well and put the rest in God’s hand” she replied.
“Ok. How you plan to delete the pictures on his phone, you know phones do have a password or pattern that is used to unlock it. And how are we sure he doesn’t have it on his laptop or flash too?” I asked just wanting to be sure that everything is well planned
“We may be lucky that he doesn’t have a password on his phone, and if he does, I will just pick the phone and we will give an excuse and leave almost immediately. And I doubt if he will be smart enough to have a backup on his laptop or flash.” She explained
“But whatsoever the case maybe tomorrow, let’s just pray that everything will work out for us” she added
We prayed together that night that God should allow our plan to work and not backfire, everything should work together for good for us.
We had a short class the next day because exams are drawing near, lectures are rounding up. I kept praying in my heart that everything will work out well even more than we had planned. After the class ended, myself and Kemi went for brunch and then went to the library to read for few hours. At about 4pm, we left the school library, the popular Kenneth Dike library and headed for Samuel’s hostel, popularly called Zik hall. I knocked at the door, and it was his roommate that opened, we greeted each other and I asked about his mother’s health. He said she is feeling better now and I and Kemi entered.
“Is Samuel around” I asked Segun
“Yes, he is, he is probably in the kitchen or maybe he went downstairs to get grocery” he replied
“Maybe you should call him. Is he aware of your visit?” he added
“Yes he is” I replied while I dialed his number on my phone.
His phone was ringing in the room, I looked up and saw it on the table where he was charging it.
“Isn’t that Samuel’s phone ringing, he is probably not far away if he didn’t go with his phone” Segun suggested
“Maybe you should just wait for him for a short while” he added
“Alright we will wait, thanks” I replied.
As if we have another choice, we have to wait till he comes we told ourselves.
“Should I check the phone now?” Kemi suggested
“I don’t think that is a good idea, he might come in at anytime and if he catches us checking his phone our plan will be ruined.” I said
“Ok I agree with you. Let’s wait till he comes in” she said
Samuel came in about 3minutes after, he was shocked to see Kemi in the room, I could read it from his face. He greeted us and pretended to be fine with Kemi’s presence. His phone rang and he picked it up, it was a call from home, I could tell from the way he was saying “yes ma” and he finished the conversation with “help me greet my younger ones”. He plugged his phone back and confirmed that it was charging, he didn’t lock it and I was silently praying that the phone shouldn’t lock automatically immediately. My prayer was answered as he whispered in my ears that he wants to see me outside. We had already predicted this in our plan, and it is just working out well. I stepped out immediately and signaled to Kemi to start her CIA job.
“What is the meaning of this rubbish?, I asked you to come and visit me and you came with your best friend, you think you are smart right?” he asked angrily
“Lower your voice Samuel, do you want everyone to hear, I didn’t plan to come with her but she insisted that she wants to come and know your room. She kept insisting and insisting and I said No, but she was beginning to suspect that something is wrong, so I decided to allow her” I explained
“Do you expect me to believe this crap?” he asked
“Well am not expecting you too believe, but I am saying the truth. Infact I suspect that she as a crush on you.” I added
“Really” he said excited. He must have thought that Kemi is another opportunity to satisfy his selfish sexual desire.
“Yes am serious, but don’t tell her I told you o, she will never forgive me if she finds out I leaked her secrets. Haven’t you noticed that she is always in your class for bible study, or you think it is just a coincidence?” I asked trying to buy more time for Kemi who is doing the “Jack Bauer” job inside
He was so interested to hear about his secret crush, and he promised not to tell Kemi about it. He was still adamant about the fact that he still wants to see me alone, he said we needed to talk, I gave upcoming exam as an excuse that I will be busy, but he still insisted. We agreed to meet two days after and he echoed the word alone several times.” Make sure you come alone” he said again as we enter the room. It’s been almost 15 to 20 minutes now that we have been talking outside and am just trusting God and Kemi that she would have been able to delete the pictures.
“Am so sorry for leaving you alone inside” Samuel told Kemi apologetically
“So what can I offer you, since this is your first time” Samuel said facing Kemi
“Our first time you meant right” Kemi said pretending not to know anything about the rape
“Oh no, this isn’t Jasmine’s first time, she have been here before” Samuel said
“Really!, I guess she is now keeping secrets from me” Kemi said facing me
“Anyways, don’t bother about entertaining us, I and Jasmine still have some other fellowship members to visit” she added.
Kemi gave me the ‘yes it is done’ signal and we left his room, I said bye to his roommate and we visited some other brothers in his hostel for just few minutes before we went back to our hostel.
“How did it go? Were you able to access is phone, did you delete the pictures?” I asked anxiously
“Calm down babe, everything is under control” she said confidently
“Gist me how did you do it?” I asked
“You guys were outside before the phone could lock automatically, I went straight to his gallery, and search for the pictures, I wanted to delete them at first, but they could serve as an evidence so I sent them to my phone using Xender. I also checked his videos to see if there is a video there of you or something, and guess what I saw?” she asked
“What!!!”I shouted
“Did he video my nudity or what “I asked curiously
“His video files was full of pornography videos my dear more than 50 different one, the one that I mistakenly played is still playing in my mind. I can’t believe that he is under the bondage of pornography, no wonder he couldn’t control himself” she explained
“You scared me o Kemi, I thought you saw a video of me or something, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you did, because that brother is a devil. And am not surprised that he is watching pornography too.” I said hissing
“So let me see the pictures you transferred” I said while I picked her phone.
There were more than 20 pictures that she transferred, looking at them alone gave me Goosebumps.
“Are you sure we should keep this pictures, what if it falls into the wrong hands” I asked
“It can’t. Transfer everything from my phone to your now and put them in a folder that will be locked with a password” she explained
“Wow that is a good idea, you are the best Kemi, what will I do without you. Hope you checked other folders in his gallery too, hope he didn’t use this same method you just taught me.” I asked to fully calm my anxiety and fear
“ Trust me, I checked every folder, I even deleted your chat on Whatsapp, incase he could recover the pictures he sent on whatsapp through there.” She said
“Wow you even thought about that. I need to give you a medal award for best friend ever” I said while I gave her a hug.
Kemi is really a lifesaver and we thanked God that everything worked out well as planned. He probably hasn’t noticed yet that the pictures are gone. I had a wonderful night rest that night after a long time, it was as if a heavy load was lifted from my head.
He called the next day to check on me and judging from how he spoke with confidence, I doubt if he has noticed yet. The next day came which is the day we promised to meet, he called to confirm our meeting and I told him I won’t be able to come again. He was furious and threatened me as usual, and I just told him to do his worst. He called back few minutes after, I guess he couldn’t find the pictures on his phone again.
“Did you tamper with my phone Jasmine” he asked
“Your phone? What do you mean, I don’t know what you are talking about” I replied
“I can’t find your pictures on my phone again. I knew I saw it few days ago, but now it is all gone” he said
“Really “I said. I couldn’t help but laugh, this is the moment I have been waiting for.
“So you think you are the only one that is smart right?” I asked
“Now you are showing your colour too right?, don’t worry I will surprise you, and that Kemi you call your friend. It will hit you where you least expect” he said
“You don’t threaten me again, I am free from your bondage” I said while I hang up on him.
“What if he has a backup of the pictures or something else to use against me” I thought. I pray he doesn’t. Meanwhile kemi told me to always record our conversations henceforth which I did.
